My Story

all i see began in 2020 as a way for me to clear my head and find joy in the everyday little things around me.

When Covid restrictions wiped out all of my wedding and family photography work I felt lost. I began to take my camera with me on my daily exercise to try and switch off, as I can only seem to do this with camera in hand. The early weeks of Lockdown saw me wandering the streets of Burley in Wharfedale in the early mornings and late evenings, trying to cover as much ground as possible in my one hour time limit, and capturing what I saw along the way. Luckily for me Burley is a beautiful place and bonus, it was springtime, so the flower-nerd in me was happy. As restrictions eased I was able to wander further into the countryside, and with the help of some friends (you know who you are!) I discovered more and more places to explore around my little village. Eventually I was able to get back to some of my favourite places around Yorkshire - I saw the bluebells in Middleton Woods, the autumn leaves at Thorp Perrow, and even made it to the coast for a few days.

Landscape and nature photography is often about capturing that one perfect image, but just like with my wedding photography I prefer to create a set of images to document what I see on my wanderings. all i see was originally meant to be a very simple visual journal; a place where I could share these stories and reflect on a difficult year. But never one to do things by halves I’ve managed to morph it into a full on website and print store, hey ho!

Finding beauty in the familiar and being outdoors in nature brings me such me such joy, even more so this past year. I want to capture the feeling of being in a particular place, or seeing it at a certain time of year, and I hope that this comes across in my photographs.

Below you’ll find examples of the sort of things I love to photograph. I have quite the bucket list of places I’d like to visit, in my local area and beyond, but if there’s somewhere you think I should see please do get in touch and let me know - I’m always excited to find somewhere new!

If you would like to support my work and buy a print then I would be so grateful. You can find my landscape and nature photography print store here, or in the menu at the top of the page.

Things I Love…

The Seasons…

I find it hard to pick a favourite season. Usually the answer is the one I’m in; I can find something to love about all of them. Spring for the flowers; from the Daffodils in early March to the Bluebells and Hawthorn blossom in May. Summer for all the greens, the evening light, and rain droplets on the leaves after a downpour. Autumn for the colours, foggy mornings and the toadstools. Winter for the frost and the low morning light.

There are so many great textures to find in nature, and I love to fill the frame with them! Autumn and winter are my favourite times for this, when the leaves turn dry and crispy. Ferns are always an obsession.

Finding abstract patterns in the outdoors is another obsession. Woodland floors, frozen puddles and sandy beaches are some of my favourite places to find these.

Flowers

Forever searching for The Good Light. Ask almost any photographer and they’ll tell you early morning and late afternoon/evening are the times to be out! I love to watch the light shining through the trees, catching on the frost, and glowing behind almost anything as it sets!
